DR. SHANA AUGUSTIN
I am an African American neuroscientist from the Caribbean that is doing cutting-edge research and sharing my research at conferences to an international audience. My career goals are two-fold:
-
To increase the number of students from underrepresented groups entering STEM fields and
-
To conduct research to better understand the molecular mechanism(s) underlying synaptic transmission and how G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) modulation of intracellular signaling cascades contributes to behavioral functions.
I am the product of STEM education. I believe that the diversity of individual perspective and experiences in science are both important in the advancement of science.
I am now searching for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.
